About Retatrutide+
About Retatrutide
Retatrutide (development code LY3437943) is a single synthetic peptide, developed by Eli Lilly, that activates three hormone receptors: the GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon receptors. In cell studies it is more active at the GIP receptor than at the other two, and in obese mice the glucagon receptor activity raised energy expenditure (Coskun et al., Cell Metab 2022). Phase 1 and phase 2 trials followed, including a randomised placebo-controlled phase 2 trial in 338 adults with obesity (Jastreboff et al., NEJM 2023). Randomised placebo-controlled phase 3 trials have since been published in people with type 2 diabetes and in adults with obesity, with and without type 2 diabetes, with 537 to 2,339 participants and lasting up to 80 weeks (Jastreboff et al., NEJM 2026). Gastrointestinal effects were the most common side effects, and one phase 3 trial reported low blood pressure and altered skin sensation (dysaesthesia) more often than with placebo. Retatrutide is an investigational drug and is not approved as a medicine in the UK, EU or US. Its safety over longer periods than these trials is not known. Supplied for laboratory research use only.
Mechanism
Retatrutide binds and activates three G-protein coupled receptors: the receptors for the gut hormones GIP and GLP-1, and the receptor for glucagon, a hormone made by the pancreas. In cell assays it is more active at the GIP receptor than at the GLP-1 and glucagon receptors, which it activates to a similar degree. In obese mice, the glucagon receptor activity raised energy expenditure, while the GIP and GLP-1 receptor activity lowered calorie intake (Coskun et al., 2022).

Storage and handling
- Reconstituted 2 to 8 C up to 30 days.
- Once reconstituted, keep refrigerated and avoid repeated freeze and thaw cycles.
- Bacteriostatic water is the usual diluent. The volume added sets the concentration in mg per mL.
- Vials carry a batch number for your laboratory records. Recent independent lab results are published in our COA Library.
FAQs
Can I order a single vial of Retatrutide without a minimum order?+
Yes. The single-vial range exists precisely so a laboratory can take one vial of Retatrutide rather than a full Factory Direct kit of 10. There is no minimum order quantity on this format.
How quickly does a Retatrutide single vial ship in the UK?+
Single vials are held in our UK facility and dispatched within 24 hours of a cleared payment on working days, on a tracked UK service. Orders placed at the weekend go out on the next working day.
How does the single vial differ from the factory-direct box?+
The compound and the manufacturing source are the same. The Factory Direct kit is a 10-vial pack and a lower per-vial cost, while the single vial is one vial from UK stock for small-scale or pilot work.
What purity is stated for Retatrutide?+
99%+ manufacturer-stated purity. Buyers are encouraged to run independent third-party verification, and our testing directory lists laboratories that perform it.
Is this Retatrutide vial for human use?+
No. Every Peptx product, including the single-vial range, is supplied strictly for laboratory research. It is not for human consumption, diagnosis, treatment or any clinical use.
What is Retatrutide?+
Retatrutide is an investigational synthetic peptide, developed by Eli Lilly, that activates the GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon receptors. It is not approved as a medicine in the UK, EU or US. It is supplied here for laboratory research use only.
How does Retatrutide work?+
It activates the receptors for three hormones: GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon. In obese mice, the glucagon receptor activity raised energy expenditure, while the GIP and GLP-1 receptor activity lowered calorie intake.
Has Retatrutide been tested in people?+
Yes. After phase 1 and phase 2 trials, randomised placebo-controlled phase 3 trials in adults with obesity and in people with type 2 diabetes were published in 2026. It remains investigational, and its safety over longer periods is not yet known.
How is Retatrutide stored?+
Store the freeze-dried powder sealed, cold and away from light, following standard laboratory peptide storage procedures. See the product specifications for detailed storage requirements.
