Endotoxins · Sterility · UK Express

Endotoxin and sterility tested peptides, held in the UK.

Most peptide certificates stop at purity. Every product here is booked for two tests more: bacterial endotoxins and sterility.

    The full panel

    Four tests, one independent laboratory.

    1. Purity

How much of the powder is the compound itself.

    2. Mass

How many milligrams are in the vial, against the label.

    3. Endotoxins

Whether bacterial endotoxins are present, and at what level.

    4. Sterility

Whether anything grows from the sample.

The fullest panel we can commission for a research peptide.

What the two extra tests tell you

    • Endotoxins: fragments of bacterial cell wall can remain in a product that is otherwise pure. The test measures how much.
    • Sterility: the sample is cultured to see whether anything grows.
    • Purity alone answers neither question, which is why both sit on the same report as purity and mass.

    Questions

What is an endotoxin test on a peptide?
It measures bacterial endotoxins, fragments of bacterial cell wall that can be present even in a high purity product. It is a separate test from purity, so a purity certificate says nothing about it.
What is a sterility test on a peptide?
The sample is cultured under controlled conditions to see whether any organism grows. Like the endotoxin test, it is separate from purity.
Which Peptx products are endotoxin and sterility tested?
Every product listed on this page is booked for both tests, alongside purity and mass, at an independent laboratory. Each result is published in the COA Library as it is issued.
    Where are the results published?
In the Peptx COA Library, exactly as the laboratory issued them. Each test is listed there from the day it is booked, with its laboratory and its due window, so a result can never appear only when it is good.
How do I find out when they land?
Create a free Peptx account and press Notify me. We email you as each product arrives in UK stock. You can leave the list at any time from your Portal.
    What are these products for?
They are research reagents, sold for laboratory research use only. They are not medicines and are not for human or veterinary use.
