    About Ipamorelin+

    About Ipamorelin

Ipamorelin (NNC 26-0161) is a synthetic five-amino-acid peptide (Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2) developed by Novo Nordisk in the 1990s. It acts on the ghrelin receptor, the same target as GHRP-6. In rat pituitary cells and in rats it released growth hormone (GH) about as strongly as GHRP-6, and in pigs it did not raise ACTH or cortisol, even at very high amounts, unlike GHRP-6 and GHRP-2 (Raun et al., Eur J Endocrinol 1998). This selectivity was shown in pigs; published human data on other hormones are limited. In healthy men, a dose-escalation study found a single short burst of GH after each dose and a half-life of about two hours (Gobburu et al., Pharm Res 1999). Because ghrelin-receptor stimulation affects gut movement, ipamorelin was studied for postoperative ileus (slow return of gut function after surgery). In rats after abdominal surgery it shortened the time to first bowel movement, but a phase 2 randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in 114 adults after bowel resection found no clear difference from placebo in time to tolerating a solid meal, or in secondary measures (Beck et al., Int J Colorectal Dis 2014). It was well tolerated in that trial. There are no published long-term human safety data. Supplied for laboratory research use only.

    Mechanism

Ipamorelin is an agonist of the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a), a G-protein coupled receptor on growth-hormone-producing cells of the pituitary, and binding triggers a pulse of growth hormone release. In pigs it released GH without raising ACTH or cortisol, which set it apart from older growth hormone-releasing peptides such as GHRP-6 and GHRP-2 (Raun et al., 1998). Ghrelin-receptor stimulation also affects gut movement, which is why it was studied in rat models of post-surgical gut slowing.

    Storage and handling

    • Reconstituted 2 to 8 C up to 30 days.
    • Once reconstituted, keep refrigerated and avoid repeated freeze and thaw cycles.
    • Bacteriostatic water is the usual diluent. The volume added sets the concentration in mg per mL.
    • Vials carry a batch number for your laboratory records. Recent independent lab results are published in our COA Library.

    FAQs

Can I order a single vial of Ipamorelin without a minimum order?+

Yes. The single-vial range exists precisely so a laboratory can take one vial of Ipamorelin rather than a full Factory Direct kit of 10. There is no minimum order quantity on this format.

How quickly does a Ipamorelin single vial ship in the UK?+

Single vials are held in our UK facility and dispatched within 24 hours of a cleared payment on working days, on a tracked UK service. Orders placed at the weekend go out on the next working day.

How does the single vial differ from the factory-direct box?+

The compound and the manufacturing source are the same. The Factory Direct kit is a 10-vial pack and a lower per-vial cost, while the single vial is one vial from UK stock for small-scale or pilot work.

What purity is stated for Ipamorelin?+

≥99% manufacturer-stated purity. Buyers are encouraged to run independent third-party verification, and our testing directory lists laboratories that perform it.

Is this Ipamorelin vial for human use?+

No. Every Peptx product, including the single-vial range, is supplied strictly for laboratory research. It is not for human consumption, diagnosis, treatment or any clinical use.

    What is Ipamorelin?+

Ipamorelin is a synthetic five-amino-acid peptide developed by Novo Nordisk in the 1990s. It is a ghrelin receptor agonist that triggers growth hormone release. It is supplied here for laboratory research use only.

    How does Ipamorelin work?+

It binds the ghrelin receptor on growth-hormone-producing cells in the pituitary, which triggers a burst of growth hormone release. In pigs it did this without raising the stress hormones ACTH and cortisol, unlike older peptides such as GHRP-6.

What did the human trials find?+

A study in healthy men found a short burst of growth hormone after each dose and a half-life of about two hours. A phase 2 placebo-controlled trial in 114 adults after bowel surgery found no clear difference from placebo in recovery of gut function, although it was well tolerated (Beck et al., 2014).

    How is Ipamorelin stored?+

Store the freeze-dried powder sealed, cold and away from light, following standard laboratory peptide storage procedures. See the product specifications for detailed storage requirements.
