Help · Paying by bank

    How paying by bank works

Four steps, all approved inside your own banking app. Below: what your bank might show you on a first payment, and what to do if it doesn’t go through.

    1. Choose Pay by bank

At checkout, pick Pay by bank and press Pay. Your order is saved while you pay.

    2. Pick your bank

Choose your bank from the list. You never type your card or your online banking login into our site.

    3. Approve it in your app

Your banking app opens. Check the amount and the payee, PX Reagents Ltd, then approve with your usual Face ID, fingerprint or passcode.

    4. Back to Peptx, confirmed

You land back on our site and your order confirms straight away, with an email to follow.

    What you might see

These come from your bank, not from us, and they’re normal on a first payment to a new business.

    • A warning on your first payment

Banks often show a message the first time you pay a new business, such as “Could this be a scam?”, or ask why you’re paying. This is your bank’s own standard check. It isn’t something we can switch off or change as a business.

    • A check on the payee’s name

Your bank may show who you’re paying. Payments to us are made to PX Reagents Ltd, the company behind Peptx.

    • A limit on a new payee

Some banks cap how much you can send to a new payee in one go, or for the first day. If that stops the payment, your banking app will say so.

    • Your app didn’t open

On a phone, the banking app usually opens by itself. If it doesn’t, make sure the app is installed and updated, then try again.

    Why pay by bank

    • Instant: your order confirms the moment you approve it.
    • No card details and no banking login shared with us.
    • Regulated open banking, approved in your own banking app.

    Still won’t go through?

    • Go back to your order and press Try again: your basket is saved.
    • Tell us what happened and we’ll help: raise a ticket.

    Questions

    Is paying by bank safe?
Yes. The payment goes through regulated open banking: you approve it inside your own banking app, and we never see your card or your banking login.
Has any money been taken if it didn’t go through?
No. Nothing leaves your account unless you approve the payment in your banking app. If you stopped part way, nothing was sent.
How long is my order held?
Your order stays saved on the payment page for a short window while you pay. If the window runs out, we email you a link that brings your basket back.
Can I pay by card instead?
